GED Preparation

Literacy Center West (LCW) offers GED preparation to both adults and out-of-school youth. Our programs incorporate a mix of classroom instruction, small group interaction, and individual tutoring. We develop individualized curricula based on students’ strengths and weaknesses in each of the five GED-tested subject areas.

This program is supported through your individual donations, foundation support, and fundraisers.

The Next Level

The Next Level (TNL) program is geared toward helping young men and women ages 17 - 21 explore career options, set career goals, and develop a plan to achieve those goals. We help participants discover their interests, skills, and abilities - then guide students along a road map that will allow them to secure their dream job.

TNL also offers professional assistance with job placement, resume and cover letter development, job search skills, job applications, and the interview process. Many of our GED participants use the TNL program to find a job that will complement their school schedule. Even in tough economic times, there are opportunities, and The Next Level helps our young men and women make the most of them.

This program is primarily supported by federal Workforce Investment Act funds as administered by Hamilton County Job and Family Services.
